The Online Business Directory for the Parish of St AgnesSt Agnes Carnival Day
St Agnes Carnival Week starts on the first Saturday in August with a large evening procession. The roads through the village are closed from about 5.30pm until about 10pm.
The procession draws a large crowd of both holidaymakers and locals from all over the county. The procession itself comprises local people, brass bands, businesses and organisations and you may even catch a glimpse of the steam engine run by a local farmer.
There's always plenty to see and to eat with a number of residents providing Barbecues along the procession route which parades around the whole village. The three brass or silver bands which played earlier in the procession then play in turn for a large crowd in the square in Churchtown.
Check out the photo gallery for more pictures from last years hugely successful Carnival day.
The week following the procession sees numerous Carnival events, many held in a marquee at the Sports Club at Enys Park. See publicity locally for specific events and times.
Previous years have featured film shows, treasure hunts, themed evenings of entertainment - all events to be announced nearer the time!
The St Agnes Carnival has its own website where you will find dates, times and a map of the route.
