St Agnes Christmas Lights

The members of St Agnes Christmas Lights Committee spend November decorating the centre of the village for Christmas by hanging coloured lanterns along house and shop frontages, and placing festive features on blank walls.

The Big Switch-on (Feast of Lanterns)

On the first Sunday in December a lantern procession is led through the village by Giant Bolster and his percussion band. Giant Bolster switches on the lights including those illuminating a huge Christmas tree in Churchtown in the village centre.

St. Agnes Silver Band plays seasonal music, mulled wine is available for adults and there is a free "lucky lantern" draw for children. One for all the family to participate in.

The St. Agnes Churches organise an open air carol service round the Christmas tree in Churchtown on the Sunday before Christmas Eve.
